The faded, worn,
threadbare bathrobe
now more grey than blue,
reminds me of you.

It still hangs on a hook,
no longer used.
Years ago
I washed away
all possible DNA
or scent of you.

Yet even so
I cannot bring myself
to transform
this final reminder
into rags.
