When a friend had a biopsy and then a small operation on her nose (because the growth there was cancerous), she encouraged me to have my scaly skin problems (on my face) checked, when I mentioned it. The dermatologist said it was a pre-cancerous thing and gave me treatment. So I was grateful for that!
